CONVERTS SAND TO SOIL PERMANENTLY

Certified organic by NASAA

Coastal Cure is specially formulated to fix non-wetting soils long term and to eliminate soil wetters for good. It is a soil amendment conditioner not a fertiliser.

Perfect for

Growing anything in Sandy Conditions, Raised Garden Beds & Container Pots.

How Does It Work

  • It changes the physical structure of sandy soils.
  • By adding clay to sand, water can penetrate the spaces between the grains allowing water and nutrients to stay in the root zone where the plant can access them.
  • The addition of rock dust provides over 60 beneficial minerals lacking in sandy soils.

Benefits

  • It converts sand to soil
  • Increases water holding capacity
  • It has a permanent effect
  •  It eliminates the use of synthetic soil wetters
  • Stops nutrients leaching
  • River & groundwater safe

A Step By Step Guide On How To Use Coastal Cure

The amount of Coastal Cure to apply will depend on the severity of sandy conditions and the degree of non-wetting. Always mix in well to the top 100 – 200 mm. Do not apply as a top dress as it will form a crust. Always water in well.

Preparing a Garden Bed & Raised Garden Bed

1. Assess your sand severity – mild, moderate or severe and apply as per below application rates. For raised garden beds use the upper-moderate rate of 2 kg/m2. Coastal Cure is a must for all raised garden beds as it acts as a binding agent which will stimulate microbial growth long term and therefore aid in the minimizing of soil depletion and mineral drawdown over time.

2. Incorporate into the soil 100 – 200 mm with some quality compost- you are now ready to plant

3. Once planting is complete, water in well with Soil Dynamics Fertilisers Seaweed Tonic to stimulate early root development, this results in a stronger tougher plant

4. 1 week after planting water plants with Soil Dynamics Fertilisers Hydrofish (100 % pure fish), this drives growth – or if you planted from seed await the use of Hydrofish until 1 week after seeds have emerged

5. Alternate applications of Seaweed Tonic and Hydrofish as a soil drench and or foliar spray per week for maximum results

6. ApplySoil Dynamics Fertilisers  Rock Dust Plus (a mineral fertiliser) at mid growth for leafy greens and at first flower for fruiting plants (peas, tomatoes etc). Rock Dust Plus must be watered in, we suggest you water it in with Seaweed Tonic or Hydrofish depending on what you are up to in your gardening routine in order to be water-wise, but hosing it in is fine.

7. Continue on with your weekly routine of Seaweed Tonic one week and Hydrofish the next

8. Apply more Rock Dust Plus when you see the second burst of leafy green growth or flowers for fruiting plants. This is when the plant requires additional nutrition to ensure successful fruit development. The plant transfers its energy into the fruit it will bear and therefore you will end up with all those minerals and nutrients in your edibles.

Application Rates

mild 0.5 – 1 kg/m2, moderate 1-2 kg/m2, severe 2- 3 kg/m2 and up to 5 kg/m2

Existing Garden Bed & Raised Garden Bed

1. Assess your  sand severity  – This may be harder in existing garden beds & raised garden beds as you may have already built up the soil. In this situation we suggest you go by the non wetting of the soil as well as the health of your plants. This will give a you an indication of which application rate to apply.  For example where an existing raised garden bed has been built up already we suggest you use the lower moderate application rate of 1 kg/m2 but if your plants are struggling we suggest you use the upper-moderate rate of 2 kg/m2.

2. Follow the above steps 2 – 8 as in “Preparing a Garden  Bed & Raised Garden Bed”

Fruit Trees

1. Assess your sand severity – mild, moderate or severe and apply as per below application rates

2. Mix into planting hole with some Rock Dust Plus & good quality compost- beware of composts as often the mass-produced ones may not have fully composted which can result in burning your plants.

3. Water in well with Soil Dynamics Fertilisers Seaweed Tonic for early root development this results in a stronger tougher tree

4. 2 weeks after planting water your tree with Soil Dynamics Fertilisers Hydrofish (100 % pure fish) this drives growth drives growth

5. Alternate applications of Seaweed Tonic and Hydrofish as a soil drench and or foliar spray per week for maximum results. Apply Potassium Humate monthly

6. Apply Soil Dynamics Fertilisers Rock Dust Plus (a mineral fertiliser) about 3 weeks after planting and again and or at first bud burst.  Rock Dust Plus must be watered in, we suggest you water it in with Seaweed Tonic or Hydrofish depending on what you are up to in your gardening routine in order to be water-wise but hosing it in is fine.

7. Continue on with your weekly routine of Seaweed Tonic one week and Hydrofish the next

8. Apply more Rock Dust Plus at mid growth of fruit to give the fruit another mineral and nutrient boost  – water in well

2. Cultivate around the drip line of the tree, with a pitchfork or sprinkle on top and  jet it in with your hose – ensure you take care not to disturb the root system especially if using a pitchfork.  It can be applied at anytime  but optimum time is at dormancy

3. Water in well with Soil Dynamics Fertilisers Seaweed Tonic for best results – then repeat steps 4- 8 as above in Fruit Trees

please note that if you find it too hard to apply the recommended rate you could  lessen the rate and repeat it 3 – 4 times at fortnightly intervals until you have achieved the desired application rate
